How it works
Length plus girth is commonly used when services classify large or irregular shipments. For a rectangular carton, identify the longest side and measure around the two remaining sides.
Service thresholds are not universal. Use this result to identify a package worth checking, then compare it with the current limits for the exact carrier, service and destination.
Length + girth = longest side + 2 × (width + height)
Planning estimate: carrier rules, service thresholds, contracts and measurement methods can change. Confirm the current rule before buying a label or quoting a customer.
